SAFE AS HOUSES starring our very own actor Siobhan Loscher, tells the story of Aggie, a woman with Down syndrome living independently in a small community estate. Aggie offers shelter to a young girl, Lucy, when her home life is not so welcoming. As their fun reveals the underlying issue of why Lucy can’t return home, Aggie’s intentions get muddled with neighbour’s preconceptions. So begins a showdown between furious parents and the judging onlookers.
SAFE AS HOUSES premiered at the 34th Galway Fleadh Festival, and continued to screen at festivals all over the globe, USA, Canada, Italy, Sweden, Norway, France and also taking home the Gold Shark for Best Irish Short Film at the Kinsale Shark awards in London.
